Introduction of Algebraic expression

An algebraic expression is a mathematical expression that contains one or more variables, constants, and mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These expressions are used to represent relationships between quantities and allow us to perform various mathematical operations.

Ex: A number increased by 5

 Let, the number be x
Algebraic expression x+5

This algebraic expression has two terms. One is x and another is 5.

Constant is called a numeral coefficient.

The variable part is called the literal coefficient

Terms are two types

i) like
  Ex: 1) 2xy, 3yx
        2) \(5x^{2}yz\)

ii) unlike
   Ex: 2xy, 3xz

5xy: Single term is called monomial
5x+y: two terms is called binomial
\(3x^{2}y-2x+5\): three terms is called trinomial
