Question: The length and breadth of rectangle are respectively \(20x^{2}y\) cm and \(5y^{2}\) cm. Find the perimeter and area of the rectangle.

Solution:

Perimeter=\(20x^{2}y\)+\(5y^{2}\)+\(20x^{2}y\)+\(5y^{2}\) \(cm\)
          =\((20+20)x^{2}y\)+\((5+5)y^{2}\) \(cm\)
          =\(40x^{2}y\)+\(10y^{2}\) \(cm\)


Area=\(20x^{2}y\ cm \times 5y^{2}\ cm\) 
       =\((20 \times 5).x^{2}.y^{1+2}\)
       =\(100x^{2}y^{3}\) \(cm^{2}\)
