Q 1. In a conductor 10 amp current passes in 1 minute. The resistance of the conductor is 2 ohm. Find the heat, generated in the conductor.
Solution:
    H=\(I^{2}Rt\)
        I=current passes=10 amp
        R=resistance=2 ohm
        t=time=1 minute=60 sec
        H=quantity of heat=?
H= \(10^{2}.2.60\)
   =\(100 \times 2 \times 60\)
   =12000 joule
Q 2. If 15000 J of heat is generated when a current passes through the conductor having resistance 2 ohm for 5 minutes, find the strength of the current.
Solution:
    H=\(I^{2}Rt\)
        R=resistance=2 ohm
        t=time=5 minute
                  =5\(times\)60 sec
        H=quantity of heat=15000 J
         I=current passes=?
  15000=\(I^{2} \times 2 \times 5 \times 60 \)
\(\Rightarrow\) \(15000=600I^{2}\)
\(\Rightarrow\) \(I^{2}=\frac{15000}{600}\)
\(\therefore\) I=\(\sqrt{25}\)
                   =5 amp
